Things to do in Wisconsin Dells – Where to stay
Wisconsin Dells Tiny Home
Make your weekend unforgettable by staying in this Wisconsin Dells Tiny Home AirBNB at Natura Resort! There’s only one on site and has a kitchen, bathroom, one queen, and one full bed. Plus, you get access to the lagoon and pools on site. We obviously didn’t swim because it was chilly, but we loved this modern little home for the weekend!
Things to do in Wisconsin Dells – Outdoor Activities
Kayak at Mirror Lake State Park
Mirror Lake is exactly what it sounds like, a beautiful, calm lake with reflections of the surrounding bluffs. We brought our kayaks and parked at the boat launch, then paddled north towards Interstate 90. This is the most picturesque part of the lake. Make sure to stop by Ishnala Supper Club right on the lake for an old fashioned if you have time! We love our Oru kayaks, click here and save 10% with code “LOOKABOUTLINDSEY”!
Lost Canyon Horse Drawn Tour
Horse drawn tours at Lost Canyon have been taking place since the 1950’s. For only $15.75, take a half hour tour into the canyon and learn about its history. It gets tight in some spots but that makes it so fun! You don’t have to make a reservation, tours just run each half hour while they’re open!
Hike at Devil’s Lake State Park
Devil’s Lake State Park is technically in Baraboo, about 20 minutes from Wisconsin Dells. This is one of the most popular state parks in Wisconsin, and for good reason – it’s beautiful! To beat the crowds, either go early in the morning, or right before sunset, like we did! We took the East Bluff Trail out and back, which is about 1.3 mile each way. Our turnaround point was Devil’s Doorway. Make sure to get here – it’s so unique!
Recommended hiking gear
Make sure to grab these hiking essentials!
Upper Dells Boat Tour
Take a tour with the tour company that made the area popular starting in the 1850’s. The Upper Dells Boat Tour takes you out on a boat to learn about the bluffs that were carved by glaciers, and even makes a few stops! Our favorite was Witches Gultch where we walked through the bluffs – so unreal!! $32 for a 2 hour tour.
Things to do in Wisconsin Dells – Restaurants
Coffee and breakfast at Bella Goose
Bella Goose coffee is the best breakfast spot in Wisconsin Dells. I’m a sucker for a cute coffee shop, especially one that roasts its own beans, and has a beautiful outdoor space (it overlooks the dam!). We grabbed a quick breakfast sandwich but the waffles looked amazing too!
Food trucks at Grateful Shed
We think the food truck hall trend is so fun, and Grateful Shed is no different. An awesome indoor/outdoor space with games, picnic tables, and a variety of food that will please everyone in your party! Choose from sushi and rice bowls, tacos, grilled cheese, and and ice cream truck!
Casual dining at Riverfront Terrace
Get some awesome views of the river, and sit around the fires at Riverfront Terrace. This is an outdoor dining spot only with live music, a bar, and a food truck. Such a fun spot, and the Cuban sandwich we got was awesome!
Beer and dinner at Tumbled Rock Brewery & Kitchen
We love a good brewery and Tumbled Rock Brewery has great beer and a great outdoor space. It’s also located in Baraboo, so make sure to stop by after you hike Devil’s Lake State Park! I would highly recommend the Smorgasbord to go along with your beer. Wisconsin’s take on a traditional charcuterie board!
