Whistler Village

Whistler is the largest and most adorable ski village we’ve ever been to. We visited for three days in late December of 2019 and had the best time! Keep scrolling for our favorite things to do in Whistler, including lots of yummy food and drinks!

Where we stayed

Cascade Lodge Whistler

Cascade Lodge Whistler Whistler hotel

Whistler hotel prices can get expensive, especially during the holidays (which is their busiest time of year) and if you stay directly in Whistler Village. If you want to cut costs a bit, but still want to walk to the lifts, check out Whistler Cascade Lodge. We booked this listing through Airbnb. It was right across the street from the village and we walked everywhere! They also have two hot tubs, free parking, and ski equipment valet – fancy!

Take in the view at Shannon Falls

Shannon Falls

Shannon Falls

Ok, this isn’t in Whistler, but it’s on the way from Vancouver and is a must stop. If you need a stretch on your drive up to the mountains, stop by Shannon Falls for some spectacular waterfall views! This spot requires minimal hiking and the falls are only a few minutes from the parking lot. It reminds me of Switzerland – so gorgeous!

Ski Whistler Blackcomb

Whistler Mountain

Whistler Mountain Things to do in Whistler

You’re probably already planning on skiing being you’re reading this post, so here’s a few tips. First, purchase your tickets in advance to save money and time. Pick them up the day you’re skiing at the base of the mountain under the express tent for no line! Second, Whistler Blackcomb is on the Epic pass, so it might be worth it to purchase that pass if you plan on doing other skiing at Vail Resorts this year. Third, skip the crowds at the main chalets during the day and eat at the huts near the top of the mountains instead. The food AND views are better! Full mountain guide coming soon!

Relax at Scandinave Spa

Scandinave Spa

Looking for things to do in Whistler if you’re not a skier or boarder? Scandinave Spa is a MUST! Even if you do ski – it’s a great way to relax after a few days on the slopes. They offer massages, but we just purchased a day pass to the pools which gives you access to their hot pools, cold pools, saunas, steam rooms, and relaxation areas. This is the most cozy and relaxing Scandinavian experience!

Walk around Whistler Village

 Whistler Village Whistler Village

Like I said, Whistler Village is one of the most adorable ski villages. Make sure to take a stroll during the day AND at night to take in all the pretty lights and 2010 Olympic remembrances. Eat, shop, and grab some hot cocoa by the fire on an outdoor patio to people watch!

Take the Peak to Peak

Peak to Peak Gondola

Built for the 2010 Olympics, the Peak to Peak gondola connects Blackcomb and Whistler mountain and is the world’s highest lift. If you’re already skiing and have a lift ticket, it’s included in the price. If you’re not skiing you can still ride the gondola for $70 per adult when purchased at the window. The views are AMAZING! And you can grab food and drinks at a restaurant on either side. A must do.

Catch some Après ski vibes

Dubh Linn Gate Irish Pub

A beer tastes so good after a day on the slopes! And there’s no better place for drinks after skiing than Whistler Village. At the base of the Excalibur lift are our favorite spots. Check out Garibaldi Lift Co, The Beacon, and Dubh Linn Gate Irish Pub. All have outdoor spots and cozy fires! More details on each spot can be found here!

Grab dinner in Whistler

Tandoori Whistler Brickworks Public House

Sushi Village

There’s a lot of great restaurants in Whistler, but if you want something more casual, check out these spots. We loved Tandoori Grill for Indian food, Brickworks Public House for American, and Sushi Village for Japanese. More details on these spots on my full food and drink guide to Whistler here!

Try local brews

Whistler Brewing Co

Whistler Brewing Co

We always try local beer when we travel, so we had to stop by High Mountain Brewing Co and Whistler Brewing Co. Both have great beer, but have very different atmospheres. Click here to  learn more about each one!
