Looking for some fun and unique things to do in Minnesota? We just tried a few Minnesota Airbnb Experiences and LOVED them – great for locals and visitors alike!
First things first, if you’re not familiar with Airbnb Experiences, just know that it’s NOT renting a local home to stay in for the night. Instead, it’s activities that you can book through Airbnb that are run by locals.
We first tried Airbnb Experiences on our trip to Japan and found they were the best way to learn about the city you’re visiting. So when we got back home, we had to try some Minnesota Airbnb Experiences too!
Minnesota Airbnb Experiences
Nordic Spoon Carving
There’s not many things that are more Minnesotan than carving Nordic wooden spoons! This Airbnb Experience brings you to Northeast Minneapolis, which is a hotspot for breweries, art, and all things local. The experience lasts 3 hours (which goes by in a flash!) and takes place at the Vevang workshop and studio which is run by the amazing husband and wife duo, Michele and Erik. They are so patient and amazing!
Before you arrive, Erik uses an axe to carve out a rough shape of a spoon. From there, he’ll teach you the different ways to hold the knife and carve the wood. We had a full class that was full of awesome people who were there for all sorts of reasons, but it was so fun to learn together! I’m so proud of my spoon and would recommend this class to anyone!

Bluff to Bluff Urban Forest Hike
We love a good hike, so when we saw that there was a bluff hike in our next-door neighborhood of St. Paul, we had to check it out! The Bluff to Bluff Urban Forest Hike is run by Jennifer who lives in St. Paul and has a deep love and understanding of the area. The experience lasts about 3 hours and Jennifer’s great about catering it to exactly what you’re looking for – whether it’s an easy walk, or a challenging hike!
You’ll see so many hidden gems of St. Paul on this hike/walk. We loved seeing the historic homes in the Cathedral Hill neighborhood, the river views from the Smith Ave high bridge, and all the history that goes along with it! You’ll wrap things up with a behind the scenes tour of Bad Weather Brewing, and some much-deserved brews!
