Minneapolis date night

I’ve been getting lots of questions lately about things to do in Minneapolis for a date night or night out with friends. So, Cole and I headed out for a Minneapolis date night in our favorite spot – the North Loop – to share some of our favorite spots with you!

If you’ve never been, the North Loop is an old warehouse neighborhood just north of downtown Minneapolis and is full of new restaurants, shops, and fun things to do. Here’s our itinerary for a night out in the North Loop!

Stop 1: Drinks at Parlour

Kick off your night at Parlour for fancy cocktails in the trendy basement bar at Borough restaurant. At street level you’ll see a sign for cocktails, so follow the stairs down to find the lounge. Cole ordered the Parlour Old Fashioned and I ordered the Not Too Tart – both are amazing! But if you really want the full Parlour experience, you MUST order the burger. It’s the best burger in Minneapolis, if not ever. We ordered one to share for a pre-dinner app!

Stop 2: Dinner at Nolo’s

Nolo’s is one of our favorite spots for food in the North Loop. We LOVE their brunch, so we thought we would try dinner! It also gave us the chance to use our Twin Cities City Tins which gave us $10 off our meal at Nolos. We tried the margarita pizza, dry rub wings, and the sprouts/cauliflower (need to be at least a little healthy, right?).

Stop 3: Crafts at Upstairs Circus

Upstairs Circus was the highlight of our night because it was so different and allowed us to do a fun activity together. If you’ve never heard of this before, Upstairs Circus is a new addition to the North Loop where you can go with friends and each make different crafts while you sip cocktails!

Here’s how it works: Each person pays $38 and can choose from a bunch of different projects that you’ll ACTUALLY want to use. Anything from signs, to jewelry, to leather clutches. It’s all so cute! Once you pick a project, you go back to your table and follow the step by step instructions to make your craft. I chose to make a bar necklace and Cole chose to make leather luggage tags. I’m so proud of our creations and love telling everyone that we made them ourselves!

Stop 4: Dessert at Edward’s Dessert Kitchen

For your final stop, cross the street from Upstairs Circus to Edward’s Dessert Kitchen. Sip on a night cap and have a few desserts at their incredibly cute location. We’ve been here a few times and are obsessed with the caramel snickerdoodle cookie. It’s a must order!!

The North Loop makes for a perfect Minneapolis date night. Give it a try with your special someone or group of friends!
