We’ve had the privilege to stay at some of the best Minnesota resorts around the state! These spots are perfect for solo, couples, friends, or a family getaway.
Here are our favorite Minnesota resorts that are all great for summer!
Best Minnesota resorts for a staycation
Trappers Landing Lodge
Location: Walker, MN
Trapper’s Landing Lodge has such nice rental units with an on-site restaurant, outdoor pool, beach, and boat rental. It’s right on Leech Lake and so pretty! We loved sitting by the fire at night, playing giant checkers by the lake, using the lily pad, and water skiing! The town of Walker is also a great destination in the summer.

Pehrson Lodge Resort
Location: Lake Vermillion, Cook, MN
Visit the iconic Lake Vermilion up in the Iron Range of Minnesota. While you’re there, staying at Pehrson’s is a must! They have all sorts of cabin sizes (some even dog friendly!), a great game room, boat rental, beach, and lots of water sports on site. We even took sailing lessons here – so cool!

Ruttger’s is an iconic lodge here in Minnesota and is opening up some new renovations this summer! We love the beach, outdoor (and indoor) pools, live music, multiple restaurants, boat rentals, shops, golf, and ice cream here. All on site! Lots of room options to choose from too!

White Eagle Resort
Location: Lake Vermilion
We stayed at White Eagle Resort in Cook Minnesota on Lake Vermilion in the winter and it was so magical! The cabins are either new or recently updated, and they have so many activities no matter the season. They’re located right on the lake so you can snowshoe and sauna in the winter and swim, boat, and lay on the beach in the summer!

Grand View Lodge
Location: Nisswa, MN
Grand View Lodge is a favorite of ours in any season we love it in the winter and summer alike! It’s probably the most luxurious of all the resorts on this list with an on site spa, shops, restaurants, multiple indoor/outdoor pools and hot tubs, ice cream and candy shop, golf, beach, boat rental, and water sports. It’s also located in the adorable town of Nisswa which has its own brewery and so many great shops and restaurants to explore!

Stout’s Island Lodge
Location: Birchwood, WI
This resort isn’t located in Minnesota but we visited recently and it’s close enough! Stout’s Island Lodge is located on an actual island, so they ferry you to and from the destination. Once there you can take walking paths around the island, canoe, swim, eat at the on-site restaurant, and so much more. Such a unique spot that is full of charm and history!
Hope you can get out and enjoy one of the best Minnesota resorts this summer!
