Living and working downtown means that I’ve tried SO MANY of the skyway lunch options, and so has my husband, Cole. When I was talking about writing this post, we couldn’t agree on the best spots, so I decided to break it up between my favorites and his favorites.
Keep scrolling for our picks for the best Minneapolis skyway restaurants! And keep in mind that most of these are just open during the week 🙂

Lindsey’s picks
…
1. Green and the Grain
Green and the Grain is a favorite among my friends at work, and I could probably eat it everyday if I could. G&G now has 3 downtown locations, all in the skyway. The long lines are there for a reason and are absolutely worth the wait! Don’t worry, they go fast 🙂 My go-to salad is the Moroccan with chicken, peppers, cous cous, grapes, carrots, and a curry-like dressing.
Sushi Takatsu
Sushi Takatsu is one of the best kept secrets in the skyway. There also tends to be long lines, but again, it goes fast! Order the lunch special to get miso soup and a sushi bowl for only $6.95! SO. GOOD.
3. Aloha Poke Co.
I’m going to admit that I haven’t had a poke bowl until Aloha Poke Co., but WOW I definitely see what all the hype is about! Aloha Poke Co. has different signature bowls, or you can build one yourself. I went with the crunch bowl with marinated ahi tuna. Plus, these little hula people are such a day-brightner 🙂
4. Freshii
Freshii can be found in other locations besides the Minneapolis skyway, but this is still one of my go-to spots. If you haven’t noticed already I have a tendency to love bowl places, if that’s even a thing. My favorites here are the Pagoda Bowl (pictured above) and the Teriyaki Twist.
5. I Grill
Every once and a while, I need some Indian food, and word on the street is that the new I Grill is the best spot you can find it in the skyway. If you’re hungry, and want a cheap meal, this is your spot! Make sure to try the butter chicken and samosas.
Cole’s picks
…
La Loma
La Loma is literally a hole in the wall, but has some of the best authentic Mexican food out there. Cole loves to get the taco salad with pastor aka marinated pork, but he also said to try the tamales!
2. Vellee
Velee started as a food truck and now has a location in the skyway. One of his favorites is the Chicken Currito Bowl with “1 kick” for spice. Cole loves his spicy food and says this is plenty! Another good bet is the Korean BBQ. Equally yummy and spicy!
3. Bamboo Garden
Cole loves a good deal, and Bamboo garden has great food for a low cost. He always orders the spicy fried rice with chicken and one egg (you can choose how many eggs you want) along with one egg role. These egg roles are the best we’ve ever had and the people who work there are the happiest and most friendly people alive!
4. Daves Downtown
To be honest, we both are obsessed with Dave’s so this should really be on both of our lists. Dave’s has so many options to choose from: salad bar, wraps, hot and cold sandwiches, burgers, and tasty desserts. A great spot if you’re going with coworkers and you want something for everyone. One of our favorites is the Mandarin Cashew Chicken Salad. We’re sticklers for good chicken in our salads and Dave’s has some of the best.
5. Allie’s
Allie’s is also a spot that we both love. Probably because there’s lots of variety here too: sandwiches, soups, salads, etc. One of the best things to get, though, is the soup. It’s homemade and comes with the most delicious bread in the whole world! It might not look like much in the photos, but it’s warm and soft and so tasty. Trust us on this one…we love our carbs.
That’s a wrap of the best Minneapolis skyway restaurants (in our opinions!). Did I miss any of your faves?

I loved this post. Haven’t tried all of the places except iGrill, Takatsu, and Allie’s. Thanks for the ideas!
I’m so glad!!
