All you trendy folks out there know that glamping = glamour camping. I’ve been wanting to give glamping a try, so when Cole learned he would be working in San Francisco this week, we decided to go a few days early to experience Northern California glamping!
We stayed at The Tannehill AirBnB. Here’s why you need to give California glamping a try!
It’s cheap!
We usually don’t spend a lot of time at our hotel when we travel. We’re always busy exploring other areas, so we don’t like spending a lot of money on hotels when we know we’ll be gone all day. Glamping was a much cheaper option. We paid $90 per night on average. So much cheaper than hotels or other AirBnBs in the same area!
Take a step back in time
I’m a fan of all things retro, so I loved the interior design of our Airstream. BUT, it’s fully renovated so you don’t give up any modern necessities. This includes a private shower, bathroom, wifi, outlets, kitchen, etc. It’s called glapming for a reason!
Spend more time in the great outdoors
Like I said above, we’re not used to actually WANTING to go back to our hotel when we’re traveling, but we found ourselves looking forward to getting back to the Airstream every night! Instead of sitting in a hotel room looking at our phones, we spent time outside together. Insert heart eyes emoji here 🙂
Take advantage of the glamorous side of glamping
Not many camping locations have private hot tubs and gas fire pits, but this one did! We loved sitting in the hot tub each night, followed by playing cards by the no-hastle fire with no one else around.
Experience different locations
We glamped among the vineyards in the countryside, but this also led us to explore a small nearby town that we wouldn’t have otherwise! Sebastopol is a quiet town with amazing coffee, restaurants, shops, and breweries. We loved it! Our airstream was also the perfect distance from Sonoma and Napa (just under an hour drive) and some great hiking. More details to come on these spots!
California is the best place to spend vacation. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Any chance you can locate a link to this airstream again? The airbnb link doesn’t go to it and I’m dying to stay here!! 🙂
