Cole and I took a long weekend in Key West after driving down from Miami. We stayed at The Perry Hotel Key West and it was a DREAM.
There are so many reasons to stay at the Perry Hotel Key West, but here are 7 to get you started.
1. Champagne at check in
Every good vacation starts with champagne, am I right or am I right? After our drive from Miami, these bubbles hit the spot! We were greeted by the nicest hotel staff who gave us directions around the area, a personalized letter, and tips on fun things to do!
2. Design
I don’t think I’ve ever stayed in a more aesthetically pleasing place than the Perry Hotel Key West. The hotel was built about a year ago and mixes the ocean-front location with an industrious feel. No cheesy pastel and shell decorations here! You feel like you’re part of the working marina right outside your window.
3. Rooms with a view
Make sure you request a pool-view room! We loved waking up each morning and heading to the balcony to look out at the water. And let’s be real, to also eye up the best spots before we headed down to the pool. The beds and pillows were amazing, with both firm and soft pillow options. My picky pillow people know what a luxury this is! Another perk: full size shampoo and conditioner that smelled wonderful! It’s really the little things that go a long way.
4. Pool time
Speaking of a pool-view room, the pool at the Hotel Perry Key West is to die for. The salt water pool is surrounded by loungers and umbrellas to keep you out of the sun (or in the sun if that’s what you choose!) We loved relaxing in the hammocks and sipping drinks poolside while listening to retro beach tunes.
5. The Salty Oyster
The Salty Oyster is one of two on-site restaurants. This spot serves food and drinks from lunch onward with a happy hour from 4-6 each day with half price food and specialty cocktails. The blackened Mahi sandwich was our favorite from the whole trip – so good we got it twice! We also had a few drinks poolside – the Perry Punch was our fav! We probably stopped by here at least once a day and made sure to listen to the live music in the early evening.
6. Matt’s Stock Island Kitchen & Bar
Matt’s Stock Island Kitchen & Bar is the second on-site restaurant at the Perry Hotel Key West. We loved this place for breakfast (make sure to try a Jarfait!) and for after dinner drinks by the fire (try the banana bread old fashioned!). We never got around to eating dinner here but heard great things! And don’t worry, you don’t have to be hotel guests to dine at these spots, so even if you’re not staying, give them a try! They are still top rated restaurants in all of Key West, after all 🙂
7. Free parking
If you’ve been researching hotels in Key West, you know free parking is a luxury. The Perry Hotel Key West has plenty of it! Along with a free shuttle to bring you into downtown Key West or Smathers Beach.
