In honor of our 1-year anniversary, and the fact that I seem to be sending our honeymoon itinerary to different friends about once a month, there’s no better time than the present to share the details of our France and Italy honeymoon itinerary! If you’re a planner and are obsessed with logistics like I am, this post is for you!

Day 1

Arrive in Paris in AM
Where we stayed: Agora Saint Germain
How we got to hotel: Car booked through hotel
What we did: Nap (much needed!) and Eiffel Tower

Day 2

Exploring Paris
What we did: Notre Dame, Louvre, Tuileries Garden, Arc de Triumph, Ladurée

Day 3

Afternoon flight from Paris to Venice
Where we stayed: Locanda de la Spada
How we got to hotel: Alilaguna Orange Line boat connection (one way)

Day 4

Italy honeymoon itinerary

Exploring Venice
What we did: St. Mark’s Square, Dorsoduro, Gondola ride, Musica a Palazzo opera

Day 5

Train from Venice to Florence: Frecciargento train – super economy
Where we stayed: B&B La Dimora degli Angeli
What we did: Wine and sunset at Piazza de Michelangelo
Where we ate: Al Antico Vinao (one of our favorites of the trip!), Gusta Pizza

Day 6

Exploring Tuscany
What we did: Super Chianti Tuscan Wine Tours – Grape Tours (aka wine, wine, and more wine!)
Where we ate: La Giostra

Day 7

Exploring Florence
What we did: Duomo, Accedemia Gallery, Ponte Vecchio
Where we ate: Yellow Bar

Day 8

AM train from Florence to Naples: Frecciarossa train – super economy
How we got to Positano: Private driver
Where we stayed: Hotel Vittoria
What we did: Fornillo Beach

Day 9

Exploring Positano
What we did: Fornillo Beach and shopping
Where we ate: Ristorante Mediterraneo

Day 10

Exploring Capri
What we did: L’Uomo e il Mare Capri Tour, Chairlift to Solaro, Anacapri
Where we ate: Ristorante Saraceno d’Oro

Day 11

Exploring Positano
What we did: Fornillo Beach (again!) and walking the streets of Positano

Day 12

AM private car from Positano to Naples
AM train from Naples to Rome: Frecciarossa train – super economy
Where we stayed: A Trastevere da M.E.
How we got to hotel: Private car booked through hotel
What we did: Roman Forum and Palatine

Day 13

Exploring Rome
What we did: Colosseum, Trastevere, Pantheon, Vatican, Trevvi Fountain
Where we ate: Pizzeria Ai Marmi

Day 14

AM flight from Rome to home!
How we got to airport: Private car booked through hotel

Planning your own France and Italy honeymoon itinerary? A few tips to help you through:
-Book train tickets in Italy in advance (Frecciargento trains are best and fastest)
-Use the Rick Steves Audio Europe app to save money on tours
-If you’re getting frustrated with logistics to get somewhere, sometimes it is SO worth it to pay extra to book a private car (HUGE time saver!)
-Walking the city is the best way to see it (and find fun things you wouldn’t otherwise!)

  1. Amazing Post…! Great and Romantic places to plan a unforgettable honeymoon. It’s like this I think Italy is the most romantic place for spending honeymoon days with our lover.
