White Eagle Resort is located on the east side of Lake Vermilion, near the little town of Cook. It’s a family owned and run resort which is so hard fo find these days!
You can find many different sized cabins for your group size and price point, along with great amenities. We stayed in the winter, but it’s an amazing summer destination too!

Cabins
Small and large cabins are available, including a cabin on a private island! We stayed in the Osprey which is a 6 bedroom, 6 bathroom cabin and perfect for multiple families. It even has two kitchens and living rooms, with an amazing view of Lake Vermilion!
Everything was incredibly clean and we loved the added bonus of heated floors in the winter!
Location on the water
We visited in the winter, so spent time on the ice rink and snowshoeing around the property and lake. We loved making our way to a nearby island! Just note that you’ll need to bring your own snowshoes and skates.
In the summer you can enjoy the on-site beach, water toys, kayaks, stand up paddleboards, and even rent a boat or pontoon for the day. We can’t wait to come back!

Game room
If it’s too cold or rainy to be outside, the game room at White Eagle Resort is the place to be. We cozied up by the fireplace and played ping pong, shuffleboard, pool, foosball, and more!
Sauna
Are you even at a Minnesota resort if they don’t have a sauna? Spending some time in here was one of the highlights of our trip- so cozy! You can even jump in the snow outside to cool off if you’re feeling daring 🙂
Activities
The owners have so many ideas of things to do in the area, and be we were there in the winter, we embarked on a horse-drawn sleigh ride nearby! We took two sleigh rides and warmed up by the fire and drank hot chocolate between rides. Such a unique thing to do, so inquire at the resort to learn more!
Nearby eats
When visiting White Eagle Resort, make sure to stop by the local restaurants. Rose Cottage Baking Co was a great spot for lunch with amazing homemade sandwiches (pictured here!). They also have coffee, pastries, and breads that are made right in house!
Also make sure to try the Landing. It’s just a few minutes down the road and is a hot-spot for snowmobilers while out on the trails. A great place!
