Going to a Twins game is so much more than just watching baseball. Make a date night out of it!
Cole and I went to our first home Twins game of the season last week and had THE BEST night. So now I’m writing this to help those non-planners out there, regardless if you’re taking your girl, guy, significant other, friend, or whoever to the game!
But being I’m the one writing this and not Cole, let’s talk about 9 reasons you need to bring your girl to a Twins game so I can give you the inside scoop 🙂
#1: Impress her with a pre-game beer (or two)
Your night starts much earlier than the game start time. Take her to a brewery nearby Target Field to get some quality time together before the game. My personal favorite is Inbound Brew Co, because it’s the most unique and is about 4 blocks from Target Field. Impress your girl by ordering her the peanut butter honey blonde. It’s TO DIE FOR!
#2: Be adventurous with unique food at a food truck
Yes, there’s plenty of food at the stadium, but how often do you get to eat at a food truck? Inbound usually has a food truck on site, but so do the other breweries in the area (like Fulton and Modist). Show her how adventurous you are by trying something new on the menu but share it so you can save room for snacks at the game and keep the price down! We tried Qué Tal, which is Salvadorian street food and it was amazing.
#3: Take her to the new trendy spot for cider
Who doesn’t love cider? Work your way to Target Field and show her how trendy you are by taking her to the newly opened Number 12 Cider just a few blocks away. Whether she likes her cider dry or sweet, there’s something for everyone here. And the ambiance is awesome – I guarantee she’ll love it! Sit on the outdoor patio, eat a pizza, or play some bags while the weather is still nice.
#4: Keep costs low with cheap tickets
Cole and I got the cheapest tickets we could get just a few hours before the game by checking Stubhub and Gametime. And we only spent a few innings here before exploring the stadium the rest of the night! Keep reading to see what we did.
#5: Go on an adventure with different views of the stadium
No matter if you’ve been to target field before or not, my advice to you is to NOT sit in your seat the whole time. Show her how fun you are by walking around the stadium to get different views of the field! Then, rate each spot and choose which was your favorite after the game. This gives you something to talk about while at the game and also puts you on a little adventure.
#6: Give her a chance to wear her cute Twins outfit
Every girl has an idea of what she will wear to a game, so give her the chance to wear it! OR go above and beyond and get her a new shirt from my favorite MN company, Fan Girl MN. They have the cutest Minnesota sports gear for women. Check them out!
#7: Take the perfect Instagram shot
Speaking of what she’s wearing to the game, make sure to act as her photographer so she can get the perfect shot for Instagram. If you’re lucky maybe you’ll make the photo 😉
#8: Surprise her with an up close look at the organ
A lot of people don’t know that you can see Sue, the organ lady, up close at Target Field! Just head to the 2 Gingers bar on the top level and you can chat with her and see her play the organ first hand! So fun.
#9: Eat unique Target Field food
Go beyond the regular ballpark hotdog and get some buffalo tater tots and street mini corn dogs. Find both of these at the Town Ball Tavern in section 229 on the club level. And if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the game for a bit, head out on the tavern’s patio deck overlooking the city!
Now, get out there and experience a Twins game – one of the best Minneapolis date nights!
