Got a trip coming up? Yay! Make sure you check out these restaurants (and a few shops too) at the MSP Airport in Terminal 1. It has the best of Minneapolis and St. Paul all in the same spot! From restaurants to shops, you can still support local while waiting for your flight.
Full disclosure, some of these might have been around for a few years, but are still my favorite! Keep reading for my favorite MSP Airport restaurants and shops…and happy traveling!
MSP Airport Mall
Black Sheep Pizza
If you asked me what my favorite restaurants in Minneapolis are, Black Sheep Pizza would be in the top 3. I LOVE LOVE LOVE their coal fired pizza, and my all time favorite is the meatball, ricotta, and garlic pizza (pictured here.) The pizza here is just as great as their other Twin Cities locations – with the addition of breakfast pizza for early travelers!
Smack Shack
Smack Shack started as a food truck and has now expanded into its popular North Loop location in Minneapolis. At their MSP location, get some lobster rolls, po’ boys, or my go-to lobster Mac and cheese. I’ll admit that it’s not as good here as their Minneapolis location, but it’s still better than a lot of other airport food!
Adrenaline
Also located in the main mall area of the MSP airport is my favorite shop, Adrenaline. This spot has all the clothes that are perfect for travelers and explorers (meaning comfy AND cute!). I even go early sometimes just to shop here! Full of men’s and woman’s clothes, and even some cute MN stuff if you want a trendy MN souvenir.

Angel Food Bakery
Angel Food Bakery is known in Minneapolis for making the yummiest and most eye-catching pastries, and they now have a location at the airport! I love stopping here before a morning flight and getting one of their strawberry donuts. SO GOOD. You can even hang out a while and see the pastry chefs at work!
Food Truck Alley
Right across the way from Angel Food Bakery is Food Truck Alley. Not only is this a fun atmosphere, but it supports some all-time Twin Cities restaurant favorites! Here you’ll find Salty Tart (pastries, sandwiches, and salads), Hold Land (Mediterranean deli), and Red Cow (burgers).
Concourse F
Hi Lo Diner
It’s a must to get one of the famous hi-tops at Hi Lo Diner, especially if you’ve never made it to their famous Minneapolis location. It’s basically fried dough with your choice of topping. I always choose the Gary Cooper with fried chicken, gravy, and syrup – gimme all the sweet and savory at once! The diner food is also amazing – especially the burger! All food is VERY comparable to the food at their Minneapolis location.
Concourse G
Shoyu
Shoyu is the only restaurant on this list that you can only find at the airport – no Twin Cities location. But it’s one of my favorites, so I have to include it! Great sushi, wine, and noodles with self-serve iPads at every seat.
Urban Undercover
a
I get all my travel bags from Urban Undercover, a local Minnesota company that is run by one of my travel friends! Find the best travel undergarments, small organizing bags, and more at this little shop. Even if you don’t need anything, make sure to take a photo of the “take the trip” tile at the entrance of the store!
Uptown Minnesota
This trendy boutique supports local Midwest makers and has such cute stuff! Uptown Minneapolis is great for gifts and souvenirs and actually feels like you’re shopping in an uptown boutique! Definitely stop by if you need to pass some time, there’s so much to look at.
Any MSP Airport restaurants or shops that I missed? I’m always looking for new spots to try!
