Is it a food truck? Is it a restaurant? What exactly is Cluster Truck??
I was invited to stop by the Cluster Truck Minneapolis kitchen last week for a sneak peek of their operations and to try some food. Here’s a summary of what I learned and why Cluster Truck is worth a try!
This post was created in partnership with Cluster Truck.
Reason#1: It’s new!
Any other early adopters out there? Cluster Truck Minneapolis just opened yesterday (May 7th) and brings a brand new way of thinking about food delivery to Minneapolis. This place cooks all food ON SITE (note: this is not JUST a delivery service!). Once the food is prepared, it is delivered out to you. And delivery is always free!
Cluster Truck is a true one stop shop – and because they cut out the middle man, it’s a lot faster than other food delivery services (more on this in my next point). Cluster Truck is kicking off its new Minneapolis location with a 2 mile delivery radius serving the neighborhoods of Downtown, North Loop, Cedar Riverside, and Uptown.
Reason #2: It’s fast
At Cluster Truck, most deliveries arrive in an average of 21 minutes! Here’s how it works. When you place an order, it will have a status of “pending.” All the items on their menu are associated with a cook time. For example, the Juicy Lucy has the longest cook time of 10 minutes. At the same time, all orders get coordinated to the closest driver.
So, if a driver is 15 minutes away from the Cluster Truck kitchen, they will track the driver and start cooking the burger when they are 10 minutes away. This way the food stays as fresh as possible and doesn’t sit under a heat lamp when waiting for a driver. And it never spends more than 6 minutes on the road for delivery. How cool is that?
Reason #3: It’s local
This is the biggest reason why I’m a fan of Cluster Truck Minneapolis. Most ingredients are sourced locally with quality suppliers. I’ll fully admit, the Cluster Truck manager was listing them off so quickly, I didn’t have a chance to write them all down! Even though Cluster Truck didn’t originate in Minneapolis, I love that they are embracing the local offerings.
Reason #4: There’s variety
When Cole and I order food, we usually start by spending 15 minutes trying to agree on a style of cuisine. Cluster Truck has over 50 menu items ranging from breakfast to burgers, tacos, Mac & Cheese, pizza, wings, salads, to noodles. And don’t forget the churros, Sebastian Joe’s ice cream, and LaCroix! It’s like they know me and all my favorite foods! They also make it easy to split among friends. Seriously, why didn’t I think of this??
Reason #5: It’s tasty!
So, what were my favorites at Cluster Truck Minneapolis? The Carnivore pizza, CluStir Fry, Chickpea bowl, churros, and Gochujang strips (which were nice and spicy!). As you can see, I had a hard time just choosing just a few. So yummy!
Reason #6: Here’s a promo code!
Is your mouth watering yet? Use the promo code “612FEEDME” at checkout for $10 off your order of $15 or more! This is valid through May 31st 2018, no exceptions. Available for new customers only. Visit the Cluster Truck website and give it a try! Happy eating!
